Hawaiian Leis

A friend from work had given me this book to make Hawaiian Leis (crocheted). I really haven't looked at it until now. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are coming to visit us here in the islands, and I though what a perfect time. The patterns are really simple and easy. I made one called Pikake for my brother-in-law and on called Hibiscus for the girlfriend. They are pretty cool. I will post pictures later!!!

What I have been doing~

OK so......I've been so busy with many things lately: a wedding shower, a wedding, a baby shower, work and graduate school. However, most of those things have ended or are ending and now I am ready to make the commitment to my crafting. I learned to knit recently! It's exciting yet intimidating. Usually, knitter and crocheters have a weird rift, but I think the crafts are similar yet different. They can be combined and loved by all. I am still working on the basket weave pattern and getting one of the patterns up from the wedding clutch. Okay.....here I am!

I'm Back!

Hello Everyone (If there is anyone),

I am sorry it has been a few months since I posted anything. I am working on a few patterns and will have at least one of them up within the week! I lost some motivation and had a lack of time to complete many of my projects. Now, though, I am going to dedicate my time to it.

Wedding Purses

I was asked by a friend to make her a purse for a wedding. I also made the bride a purse. Here are the pictures.

Coming Soon

I have been working on a few ideas and coming soon is a basket weave clutch. I love clutches. I think they are classic and amazing. I also have what I like to call the 'S' clutch/tote and a "Paths" bag with interweaving design. Basket weave clutch will be first. Soon.

Chain 47

Row 1: SC in 2^nd CH from hook. Then, SC in each CH across. Ch 2. Turn

Row 2: 2 DC in 1^st SC * skip 2 SC, SC in 3^rd SC. Skip 2 SC, 5 DC (shell stitch) in 3^rd DC* Repeat * across to last 3 SC. SC in last SC. CH 3. Turn.

Row 3: 2 DC in 1^st SC. *Skip 2 DC and SC in 3^rd DC (top of shell stitch). Skip 2 DC and shell stitch in SC*. Repeat * across to last 3 stitches. SC in top of turning CH. CH 3. Turn.

Repeat Row 3 until piece measure desired length. Sew sides together, but leave a flap to cover opening.

I installed a snap, not a button to the clutch to make a sleeker look.

Materials:
Plastic Bag Yarn (instructions can be found here.)
Afghan Hook Size K (or you could use a regular crochet hook, but it is more difficult to keep the stitches on the hook)

Pattern:
Chain 14
Row 1: Insert hook in second chain and do a forward pass LOOSELY to prevent curling. Then follow by a return row.
Row 2: Insert hook into first vertical bar and do a forward pass. Follow by a return row.
Row 3-10: Repeat Row 2.
Finish off by weaving in ends.
